NewsAugust 2008 What happened to July? Who says time doesn't fly? Congratulations to Martin on 3 more youngsters earning their OFA Good and OFEL Normal scores. Hip-Hip-Horray !!! (pun pun pun, ha ha). We are so thrilled that 100% of Martin's tested offspring have scored OFA Good and OFEL Normal. That's a great record. Way to go Martin ! The 3 new health clearance holders are: GRCH Pacesetter's Smooth Movin', known as Grace; GRCH Solace's New League, known as Major; and Solace's More Than A Feeling, known as Joy. Thanks to Stephanie Leddon and Sherry Bradley for sharing these results with us, and for bringing the dam, UCH Pacesetter's Golden Solace, CGC, ROM to Martin. YEAH !
June 2008 June is Birthday month here at YNDA. June 24th is the 7th birthday for Anna, Bella, DJango, Hawkeye, Maggie (in NC), and Tango. What smiles and love these dogs have brought to all their owners, and we feel so honored to have 2 of them here with us -- beloved Hawkeye and darling Anna! 'Seven' is the age at which Labradors officially become 'veteran' dogs in terms of age. Hawkeye celebrated by siring puppies for Miss Imp... Thanks Hawkeye! Thanks also to the owners of these great dogs -- David & Chris of Bella, John with DJango, Bennie & Denise with Maggie, and Jeannette and Jim with Tango. This has been a special special litter for us all. May 2008 Miss June is doing so well she has come into 'season' for the first time in 3 years. Thank you to Drs Idleman and Jenkins for supporting June's health and recovery. St John has 6 new puppies accepted into Service Dog Training ! 2 pups are training at St Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation in Virginia. And 4 puppies are training at Hearing and Service Dogs of Minnesota in Minneapolis-St Paul. Huge congratulations to St John and the puppies' mother, SHR Pacesetter Jazzy Blue, CGC who is a Hawkeye daughter. Way to go Miss Blue and St John ! March 2008 Huge congratulations to new AKC Champion Twinholly's Yellow Submarine !!! and his owners and co-breeders, Jim and Jeannette Scott of Brick, NJ. Cooper finished on March 30, 2008. Congratulations to Paul Sargeant, new owner of new Grand Champion Fernwood's Drake, son of Ynda's Anna at Fernwood, CGC. Way to go Drake. Thank you to DJango's co-owner, John Smith for handling Drake to 2 Bests of Breed at the UKC Carolina Classic. We gave Anna extra goodies to celebrate Drake's 2nd title. Welcome to our newest addition, stud puppy from our frozen semen from CH Mallard's Flying Cloud of JanRod, WC -- Barefoots Ricochet To Ynda-n-Twinholly, to be known as 'Rickie'. Rickie is a grand-daughter of our St John on her mother's side. Her mother is the lovely Barefoot girl, GRCH Barefoots Jaunty Jessica. Rickie is co-owned by our dear friend, Jeannette Scott at Twinholly Labradors. meet Rickie Congratulations to St John and Tango's son -- Cooper -- on his Winners Dog on March 1, 2008. Cooper's AKC point total is now 14 points with both majors .... we are so proud of this beautiful, sweet boy who has all his clearances! Way to go Cooper ! Cooper is owned by his co-breeders at Twinholly, Jeannette and Jim Scott. January 2008 Congratulations to St John on another UKC Top Ten finish. John competed in only 5 shows during 2007 and earned enough Best of Breed points to land him in 10th place. Way to go St John. John was previously in the Top Ten in 2004 and finished at #5. Congratulations to St John's son, Cooper -- BIS GRCH Twinholly's Yellow Submarine, on his UKC Top Ten finish. Cooper finished the year in 7th place, which includes a spectacular Best in Show in NC. Way to go Cooper. Cooper also earned his 2nd AKC major -- from Bred By -- and most of his single points. He only needs a couple of singles to finish his AKC Championship. Cooper is a Tango son, and litter brother to BIS GRCH Ynda's Indian Summer Song, 'Melody'. Cooper is owned at Twinholly by Jim and Jeannette Scott, his breeders. We at Ynda are his co-breeders. . Congratulations to Martin's son, Major -- GRCH Solace's New League. Major finished the UKC year as #2 in the Top Ten. We are very proud of this young Martin son who will not be 2 years old until May of 2008. Major is owned by Sherry Bradley his breeder. Major's co-breeder is Stephanie Leddon of Pacesetter Labradors.Major's mother, Laci, is a Hawkeye daughter. Congratulations to Martin & Jeannie's son -- GRCH Ynda's My-Favorite-Martian -- Ian now has 6 puppies in service dog training at St Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation in Roanoke. Ian is putting his kindness and biddable temperament on his puppies. December 2007 Congratulations to Martin's daughter, Gracie, on her whirlwind campaign for her Grand Show Championship -- GRCH Pacesetter's Smooth Movin'. Gracie is proudly owned by Stephanie Leddon, her co-breeder, at Pacesetter. Great-Grandmother June had her latest round of evaluations this week, and she continues to do well, so well in fact, that only 1 liver enzyme is now outside the normal range. She looks great and acts like her old self. In fact, she is more affectionate and wags her tail even more than she ever did. What a miracle her recovery is. What a joy to have her with us ! November 2007 We are so pleased to watch the UKC Top Ten rankings this autumn. Martin's son, Major, GRCH Solace's New League, is currently ranked as #1. What an achievement. Martin was #1 in 2004. Way to go Major and Sherry Bradley. June continues to do well. We are grateful to her veterinarian, Dr Jenkins and to June's acupuncturist, Dr Idleman, for their work with June. She is such a joy to have! Lewis and Morella are growing by leaps and bounds, as is Wendy -- Ynda's Darling Dream Girl -- with the Henry's. October 2007 As many of you know from keeping up with our Puppy Blog pages, our darling June was faced with a terminal illness -- inflammatory hepatitis. She has battled valiantly and we continue to enjoy her company. What a miracle her presence is! SHe is enjoying a very full life with all her favorite things she does. St John's offspring continue to shine: Ella and Zack's puppies are flourishing, and 4 prepare to begin their Service Dog Career. Two of them are FOUNDATION dogs for St Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation -- Scarlet and Green. The 3 Ella/Zack puppies that are going to be show and
breeding dogs are: September 2007 We welcome Ella & Zack's puppies to the fold on Sept 16th. Congratulations to Ella on such a nice litter and a great job whelping. Thanks again to JanRod for sharing their frozen semen with us. We feel very honored to have Zack's puppies. 4 boys and 3 girls. September is 'birthday' month here at Ynda. Ella/Jeannie/Dreamer/Ian turn 4 years old on the 2nd. St John and Imp turn 5 years old on the 4th. Melody/Cooper/Maggie/Martha turn 3 years old on the 21st. That's a lot of meatloaf-doggie-birthday-cakes to make. But we dearly enjoy each September with its milestones. In addition, we will be adding the pupsicles birthday in September. More meatloaf-cakes. We like to take birthday photos of the dogs, so you will begin to see those birthday shots sprinkled throughout the site. Cooper gained another Winners Dog award in AKC, bringing his point total to 12. Congratulations to Cooper, Jeannette and Jim Scott. What wonderful news to share. August 2007 St John becomes the 2nd Register of Merit Excellent Sire in the same month that half-brother, Martin, earned the title. Pat Weisse called to report that Panthercreek's Southern Belle, 'Payton', earned the 10th title for John's offspring with her United Show Champion title. John has had at least 1 titled offspring from each of his litters. Further Flash: John's son, Bully, finishes his Grand Show Champion title !! Congratulations to Panthercreek for their new GRCH Panthercreek Captain Hayes. Bully is also AKC pointed and an AKC Best of Breed winner. Thank you to the owners of St John and Martin puppies for showing and training them to their titles. We are humbled by their achievements. Thank you for bringing such nice girls to our boys.
