We Remember
I had a secretary years ago who was Iroquois, we called him
'Mimosa Jack' because of his having planted a Mimosa tree at my house ...
anyway, when my dog Scooter died and I was inconsolable, he told me this belief:
'there is a greater spirit that ties all living things together .. it is called
the web of life .. spirits come into it, dwell there, and then in time they go
back out again to be born into other living things .. if a spirit has been very
cherished in one life, it can be reborn back into that same life to be near to
the ones it loved and who loved it before ... when your beloved dogs leave you
in body, sing their spirits to the star web of life ... in time they will come
back, hopefully to you or someone you love ...'
